MUD ON THE ROAD Tyres only drop mud when there is actual mud on them—the same mud shown on your tyres after field work. Clean or washed tyres leave no mud behind. On roads, yards, and tracks, muddy tyres leave tyre-print smears and throw off clods. Driving faster causes clods to fling further across the road. As the tyres roll, they shed mud, so the trail gradually cleans up over a few hundred metres. Smears bend with the wheels through corners. Mud builds up: driving over old mud refreshes and thickens it, while new layers are added on top. This feature works for all vehicles and trailers with wheels, including AI helpers. CLEANING UP Rain washes mud off the road: heavy rain clears it in about 5 in-game hours, while light rain takes around half a day. In dry weather, mud dries and lightens, disappearing after roughly three in-game days. Sweepers can clean it up: any sweeper brush turned on will remove the mud it passes over. Use a bucket to scrape it up: position a loader, telehandler, or wheel loader bucket with its lip on the road and push forward. The mud then goes into the bucket (as manure in the base game, or as mud/dirt/soil if another mod adds that fill type). You can adjust how long mud lasts, how far it is carried, how many clods are thrown, the maximum mud on the map, and more.
