The LM 846 is a more common wheel loader than the LM 845. It features the same tire size all around and is 500kg heavier. While the 845 was better suited for forestry work due to its larger front wheels, the 846 is a versatile loader ideal for material handling. Based on the LM 845 from Giants Software, I present the LM 846 from 1972. Features: - Different wheel options with consistent (and nearly realistic) dimensions on all four wheels - Updated ZF axles front and rear for maximum torque Three Engine options: - Volvo D50B – Standard 115hp, 5.13L inline six-cylinder engine - Volvo D60A – 125hp, 5.48L inline six-cylinder engine with more torque and higher rpm. Price: 5000 - Volvo TD70B – 180hp turbocharged 6.73L truck engine, including an updated torque converter for higher top speed. Price: 15000 Reworked gearbox with High/Low gears, 2 forward speeds, and 2 reverse speeds, just like the real machine. Adjusted weight distribution and center of mass for authenticity. Enhanced engine and torque converter sounds for realism (the real 846 is a loud, roaring beast). Changelog 1.0.0.1: Reworked wheels. Author's notes: I own a Volvo LM 846 from 1974 and was thrilled to find the LM 845 in the Giants Software Volvo Pack! (The 846 is almost identical to the 845 except for the wheels.) Based on my extensive experience with the 846, I aimed to make this mod true to the real machine—heavy, sluggish, loud, and high-revving. In Sweden, it’s common to swap out the old D50 for a turbo truck engine, so I included that option. I am new to modding, but next I plan to update the 3D model to look exactly like the real thing and add turbo sounds to the TD70.
