My first Tractor convert release for FS25 and one that I simply cannot do without for FS25 – the John Deere 8760/8960V1.2.0.0
Following the release of the 8760/8960 earlier this year, I was contacted by BcBuhler Farms, who uncovered an old model of their dad's 8570 tractor, built in Blender by him and his brother, and offered to donate the model to serve as the hood on the chassis of the 8760/8960 mod as a base.
To date, there has not been a public 8570/8770 or 8870 in FS; the closest versions are Custom Modding's 8960/8970 in FS17 and FS19.
So, naturally, I agreed, and this kicked off about two weeks of work modifying the hood to fit the original mod, creating decals (again, generously provided by BcBuhler Farms), and finally designing custom dirt and specular maps.
Included with this update are the 8070 series under a separate store icon in Large tractors, with original pricing from 1993:
8570 – 250hp
8770 – 300hp
8870 – 350hp
The 8970 features decals, but I am still sourcing a suitable 8970 model and accurate measurements to include it. The plan is also to obtain real 8970 Cummins engine sounds to ensure authentic tractor noise.
Additionally, tire options, PTO, 3-point hitch, and GPS options are the same as the 8060 series, with a special lighting setup designed to replicate BcBuhler's dad's real-life 8570, from which measurements were taken to make this mod possible.
Also worth noting, following patch 1.13, the materials in the 8060 series cab broke on the wear map side. I’ve attempted to fix this by re-implementing the old FS22 vmask textures, though this may be revised in a future update.
History behind this mod:
In real life, my dad bought a 1992 John Deere 8760 in 1996 for use as his main air seeding and ploughing tractor in Western Australia. After a few years, we noticed some faults, including poor night visibility with the factory lights. To improve this, new LED Hella spotlights and a light bar were installed by the early/mid-2000s.
Recently, in 2024, we sold this tractor, affectionately called “Big Green.” Since I couldn't keep a piece of the real tractor, I decided to recreate its light bar in FS22.
Like the 7810, getting this mod working correctly took some effort. Siid Modding initially put the wrong gearbox and sounds in the original mod—sounds that seem to be from a Fendt, not a John Deere.
Updates/changes from FS22:
– The mod has been updated to FS25 materials, so the tractor now reacts realistically to moisture, though water droplets are less visible on the hood.
– The tractor uses John Deere 15L engine sounds from Deyluck’s 8650 mod, which is the closest I can get to authentic recordings of the real 8760.
– All tires are standard FS25, including BKT, Michelin, and Continental brands. Future plans include adding Firestone and Goodyear tires once Spesard & STX Farms’ tires are available.
– The cab features updated materials and is prepared for a future update that will include an option for a 24-speed Synchro-shift.
– Precision Planting and Kinze monitors have been upgraded to match the standards of the current Casearias Steiger.
– All lights have been updated to FS25 standards.
I plan to continue updating and refining the tractor, including adding a 24-speed partial powershift transmission, adjusting step and toolbox positions to match the real tractor, and eventually recording authentic sounds of the real “Big Green.”
As always, the mod has been cleared of errors and warnings in the log. If you encounter any issues, please let me know. Thanks to Siid Modding for the original tractor in FS19 and FS22, Casearias Modding for the PP, Kinze, and Concord in-cab monitors, and everyone else who contributed models for steering wheels, GPS monitors, and more—your work made this mod possible.

Great work on this tractor! It's fantastic to see such dedication and history woven into the mod. Thank you for ensuring it reflects the essence of the real life 8760/8960.
