Sun Presets – lighting presets for FS25! What is this? The mod adds over 40 carefully selected lighting presets to the game:
Adjustments include sun brightness and size, sunlight hue, bloom effects, tone mapping, and soft color grading. Quickly change the atmosphere of your map—from “Golden Hour” and “Blue Season” to “Neon Night,” “Alpine Freshness,” and “Desert Afternoon.”
How does it work?
Inside the mod, you'll find a table with more than 40 presets.
Each preset includes:
Sun brightness and size multipliers;
Sun color (R/G/B);
Bloom post-effect settings (magnitude/threshold);
Tone mapping parameters (slope/toe);
Soft color grading adjustments (global/shadows/midtones/highlights + thresholds).
The mod does not alter map files directly; it dynamically multiplies and enhances the base map lighting curves, making it compatible with most maps and their environment.xml / colorGrading*.xml files.
In-game controls:
Right Ctrl + ? / ? – switch presets without opening the menu.
When switching, a notification appears with the preset name (lasting 2.5 seconds).
Menu settings:
In “Settings"General” you'll find the Lighting Presets section with a “Preset” slider.
Navigating through the menu is the same as using hotkeys—always one active preset. Save your preferred setting!
The selected preset is saved to the profile file: modSettings/SunPresets.xml

The lighting presets really enhance the realism and immersion in the game. It definitely factors in various atmospheric conditions well. However, it would be great if there was an even broader variety of tones for different times of day and weather situations. Overall, it’s a solid addition!

Great concept, but trying to adjust lighting can be a challenge. More presets could certainly fuel the game’s look. Sometimes it's hard to visually distinguish within similar twin versions. Offering a separate preview screen or adjusting effects individually would enhance creativity. Overall, nice addition to lighten up our farming campaigns.
