Description:

The TOS-1 is a multiple rocket launcher based on the T-72 tank, with the best-known variant featuring a launch assembly equipped with 30 rocket tubes (originally known as Ob.634 or TOS-1M). A reduced-capacity version with 24 projectiles (Ob.634B or TOS-1A) is also available. These rockets typically carry thermobaric warheads. The system first saw combat during the Battle of the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan during the Soviet intervention. The TOS-1 was publicly unveiled for the first time at a military parade in Omsk in 1999.
