The Advanced Damage System is a complete overhaul of the vehicle maintenance system, transforming it into a deep and strategic gameplay experience. Version 0.8.4.5
Game settings have been added to configure the thermal model.
The default values have been adjusted to reduce heat buildup and dirt impact.
The wear penalty when the engine is cold has been reduced.
A warning message is now displayed when the engine is running at high rpm.
Overhaul is now only available for vehicles with a health below 50%.
IMPORTANT: All mod settings will be reset to their default values with this update. Forget the simple “Repair” button—now every tractor requires a thoughtful approach. A big thank you to Frvetz, the developer of the “Realistic Damage System” mod for FS22, for allowing us to use ideas from his mod and for supporting us during the early development phase. A big thank you also to Derwen Modding for testing the early builds. Main Features include two new parameters: Condition (total mechanical wear) and Maintenance (consumables). Poor maintenance accelerates wear, and poor condition leads to failures. Dynamic Breakdowns: Dozens of malfunctions affecting the engine, transmission, brakes, and hydraulics. Breakdowns progress in several stages and worsen over time if left unchecked. Realistic Temperature Simulation: Overheating of the engine or transmission reduces performance or leads to critical failures in older equipment. Brand Uniqueness: Vehicles differ in reliability (affects wear rate, breakdown probability, and service intervals) and serviceability (affects service costs and time). New Workshop System: Part Selection allows choosing between reliable original parts or cheaper aftermarket parts that carry a certain risk of failure. Inspection detects hidden faults. Maintenance restores service status. Repair fixes specific, identified breakdowns. Overhaul partially restores the vehicle’s overall condition. For more information, see further down in the guide. Console Commands for testing and debugging purposes, the mod includes several console commands. To use these, you must be in a vehicle that supports the mod. Commands include ads_debug to enable global debug mode, ads_listBreakdowns to list all available breakdown IDs, ads_addBreakdown to add a specific breakdown, ads_removeBreakdown to remove a breakdown, ads_advanceBreakdown to advance a breakdown to the next level, ads_setCondition to set the vehicle’s condition, ads_setService to set the service level, ads_resetVehicle to reset the vehicle condition and remove breakdowns, and commands for starting and finishing maintenance procedures.
