Realistic Water & Soil Management – RWSM **Realistic Water & Soil Management** enhances Farming Simulator 25 by adding a permanently stored water, soil, and plant balance system. Rain, irrigation, evaporation, soil type, terrain, compaction, tire pressure, tillage, and plant development are all interconnected. Fields no longer simply react as 'dry' or 'wet,' but instead maintain a multi-layered water balance involving topsoil, root zone, and subsoil. Natural depressions stay moist longer, heavy vehicles compact wet soil more, and inadequate tire pressure increases topsoil load. These factors have long-term effects on soil structure, root health, plant growth, and yield. **Features** - Multi-layered water balance - The soil water balance is calculated separately for: - Topsoil (0-10 cm) - Root zone (10-30 cm) - Subsoil (30-60 cm) - Precipitation, irrigation, evaporation, seepage, drainage, surface runoff, plant water absorption, soil type, structure, compaction, and landform are all considered. - The usable field capacity is shown separately from total pore saturation. Excess water can seep away, runoff, or cause waterlogging. - Different soil types - RWSM differentiates soils such as loamy sand, sandy loam, clay, and silty clay, each with unique properties like field capacity, wilting point, water retention, infiltration, drainage, bearing capacity, and compaction risk. - Dynamic weather and climate - Regional climate profiles influence precipitation, temperature, evaporation, wind, humidity, sunlight, and seasonal distribution. Real weather data directly affects soil moisture, drying, and evaporation. - Realistic drying - Drying depends on temperature, wind, sun, humidity, soil type, and compaction, not just a timer. A moisture memory prevents fields from drying out immediately after rain. - Natural depressions and waterlogging - The system detects low areas that collect water, dry slowly, have lower load capacity, promote sinking and track formation, increase compaction risk, and can cause oxygen deficiency in roots. - Soil compaction - Compression is stored separately for topsoil, root zone, and subsoil, influenced by vehicle weight, payload, wheel load, axle load, tire width, pressure, soil moisture, soil type, slip, speed, and crossings. - Multiple crossings - Repeated passes are considered, with initial damage being most significant and subsequent passes further compacting the soil. - Roots and plant stress - The system simulates root health, fine root health, achievable root depth, drought stress, waterlogging, oxygen deficiency, compaction, nutrient, pH stress, and mechanical damage. - Impact on yields - Actual crop yield is affected by water balance, dryness, waterlogging, root health, compaction, soil structure, nutrients, pH, seedbed, weeds, lanes, and mechanical damage. Damage accumulates over time, not instantly. - Crop vitality visuals (Alpha) - A vitality system shows local differences in plant health, such as plant height, stock density, stress zones, and development, without affecting growth or harvest maturity. - Weed competition - Weeds compete with crops for water, nutrients, light, and space, potentially reducing growth and yield. - Tillage - Different tools (plow, cultivator, disc harrow, rotary harrow, subsoiler, seeder, roller) are evaluated for working depth, moisture, compaction, seedbed strength, and risk of plow soles. Deep loosening is effective only with suitable soil moisture. - Seedbed and rollers - Seedbed strength is assessed; too loose leads to poor sealing, too compacted impairs airflow and roots. Rolling provides reconsolidation based on soil type, moisture, and compaction. - Irrigation system - Includes a functional Rainstar irrigation system with pump, hose reel, sprinkling rail, adjustable pressure and radius, application rate, water consumption, soil input, automatic hose retraction, work/transport modes, parking brake, clutch, markers, sound, and water jet visualization. Water application affects soil moisture. - Extended field info - Displays topsoil moisture, pore saturation, surface condition, excess water, soil type, evaporation, temperature, wind, compaction, structure, seedbed strength, root condition, plant vitality, height, density, stress causes, and climate data. - Water-Soil API - Provides an interface for other mods to access soil and water data, including soil type, moisture, pore saturation, available water, surface moisture, carrying capacity, trafficability, sink factor, sinking depth, compaction, track depth, root condition, evaporation, recommended tire pressure, and plant vitality. - Connection with Visual Mud Tracks - Transmits data such as wheel load, axle load, tire pressure, width, slip, vehicle weight, payload, soil moisture, capacity, sink factor, and track depth to link ground conditions with visual mud, tracks, and tire behavior. - Saving and multiplayer - Data like water balance, precipitation history, compaction, track depth, soil structure, root condition, edit history, plant vitality, irrigation data, pump pressure, radius, and hose retraction are stored and synchronized for multiplayer sessions.
