V1.3.5.5 Savegame Error Fix Visual Mud Tracks – full mod description Visual Mud Tracks enhances Farming Simulator 25 by providing a detailed simulation of lanes, soil moisture, tire behavior, compaction, fruit destruction, root damage, and bogging. Vehicles respond more realistically to dry, moist, and water-saturated soils. Designed for both single player and multiplayer, the mod works seamlessly with the Realistic Water & Soil Management System (RWSM). Soil moisture, load capacity, and waterlogging influence not only visual appearance but also tire contamination, sinking, slippage, driving resistance, and plant damage. Physical lanes and terrain grooves Tires can permanently indent the terrain, creating real grooves in the heightmap. The depth and width are calculated individually for each wheel based on various factors. Considerations include: - Vehicle weight - Actual wheel load - Tire width and radius - Tire pressure - Soil moisture and saturation - Load capacity - Speed - Wheel slip - Cornering - Number of previous crossings - Trailers, levels, and attachments Left and right bike lanes remain separate, with the vehicle's center not unnecessarily lowered. Grooves have a narrow, steep cross-section to prevent large sinkage areas. Existing tracks can be deepened with additional crossings, with a maximum depth to protect terrain integrity. Grooves are created directly at the contact point of each wheel, accounting for steering, mirror-mounted, and differently aligned wheels. Restoration through tillage Physical lanes can be removed by tillage equipment such as plows, cultivators, disc harrows, subsoilers, mulchers, reels, seeders, direct seeding machines, and planters. Tillage resets only the current work area, removing visual traces and pending calculations. Safe Terrain Journal The mod uses separate savegame files: - visualMudTracksTerrainBackup.xml - visualMudTracksActiveRuts.xml - visualMudTracksState.xml The original terrain height of each cell is saved during the first intervention and remains unchanged by subsequent passes. Active grooves and recovery data are managed separately, allowing for controlled resets and resumable restores. Update notes: Before updating from an older version, remove existing lanes with tillage equipment and save the game. Permanently written grooves may otherwise remain. Visible and physical sinking Tires visibly and physically sink into soft, wet surfaces, simulated via the effective wheel physics radius. This causes the tires, suspension, and ground contact to react together. Sinking occurs gradually, with the wheel lifting out of the ground in a controlled manner on solid surfaces. Depth depends on: - Soil moisture and saturation - Load capacity - Wheel load - Tire width and pressure - Speed - Slip - Existing track depth Wider tires distribute load better, while narrow, heavily loaded tires cut deeper. Tire pressure system Tire pressure can be adjusted during driving. The value is saved per wheel and synchronized in multiplayer. Effects of tire pressure: - Low pressure increases contact area, improves grip on soft ground, reduces cutting, and eases extraction from soft tracks. - High pressure reduces contact area, increases cutting, raises the risk of getting stuck on wet terrain, and may be more economical on solid ground. A compact HUD displays current pressure in bar, color-coded for quick assessment. Soil moisture HUD and RWSM connection The Soil Moisture HUD shows the current RWSM topsoil value in percent, matching the field info. Values above 100% indicate severe waterlogging. RWSM soil moisture influences: - Sludge content - Tire contamination - Particle effects - Load capacity - Sinking depth - Tire grip - Wheel slip - Groove depth - Risk of getting stuck - Fruit and root damage Irrigation-induced soil moisture changes can alter soil physics. Tire dirt and mud Mud accumulation is stored per tire. Tires remain dirty after leaving the field and clean themselves based on surface type: - Asphalt cleans quickly - Gravel cleans slower - Dirt roads only slightly - High speeds eject more mud - Rain washes off tires - Light dirt films may remain Particle effects differentiate dry earth from wet mud: - Fine dry particles - Medium dry particles - Fine wet splashes - Medium mud particles - Heavy mud lumps Particle quantity depends on wheel rotation, slip, tire dimensions, moisture, sink factor, and load. Particles are generated only with suitable ground contact. Progressive stuck physics On waterlogged or unstable ground, vehicles can progressively become stuck. Continuous slippage causes wheels to dig in further, reducing grip and increasing resistance. Factors include: - Soil moisture and saturation - Load capacity - Wheel load - Tire pressure - Slip - Speed - Engine load and RPM - Tension and resistance Different implements like plows, cultivators, disc harrows, subsoilers, seed drills, and rollers generate varying resistance. Working width and depth influence power needs. In extreme cases, propulsion can be nearly lost. Lifting or uncoupling tools reduces load, and controlled reversing can free the vehicle. Soil compaction Vehicles compact the topsoil and subsoil depending on wheel load, moisture, slip, and passes. The mod includes: - Topsoil compaction - Subsoil compaction - Stronger compaction in wet conditions - Multiple passes - Additional load from cornering and slipping - Plow sole effects - Targeted reconsolidation via rolling - Slow biological recovery Compaction and soil structure are visible in the field info. Fruit destruction Plants in tire contact areas may be damaged or removed, using native LS25 fruit destruction logic. Damage depends on: - Wheel load - Tire width - Soil moisture - Slip - Cornering - Growth stage - Root health - Soil structure - Number of crossings Young plants are more sensitive. Repeated crossings increase damage. Regular tires may remove plants after multiple trips; maintenance tires reduce but do not eliminate damage. Root health Each soil cell can have an individual root health value. Damage occurs due to: - High wheel load - Wet ground - Slip - Cornering - Multiple crossings - Unfavorable growth stages - Soil compaction Declining root health raises the risk of visible plant damage. Values below 70% increase sensitivity; below 40% lead to quicker destruction; below 20% pose a very high risk of failure. Root health recovers biologically over time.
