FS25 Visual Mud Tracks enhances the lanes and soil behavior in Farming Simulator 25 with a persistent soil system that depends on weight, moisture, and crop conditions. The mod not only creates visible tire and chain tracks but can also lower the terrain to form permanent ruts. It considers vehicle weight, load, tire pressure, soil moisture, tillage, plant roots, slip, cornering, and multiple passes. **Lanes and terrain grooves** The tracks depend on factors such as tire width and type, tracked chassis or trailer tires, wheel load and vehicle weight, loading and filling materials, soil moisture, soil type and cultivation, tire pressure, crossing number, existing compaction, and plant and root stock. Heavy vehicles and repeated crossings can deepen grooves, with maximum depths limited for wheels, trailers, and tracked vehicles. These grooves are retained after saving and only removed through soil cultivation or manual reset. **Vehicle weight and attachments** The mod calculates curb weight, total weight, fill units, seeds, fertilizer, lime, water, manure, crops, trailer and combine loads, front and rear weights, attached devices, recursive device combinations, axle load distribution, load shifting, support loads, and device positions. Ground-based devices exert less strain than fully raised ones. **Tire pressure** Visual Mud Tracks can read tire pressure values from Mud System Physics. Low tire pressure results in larger contact areas, wider tracks, lower point loads, and shallower grooves, while high pressure produces smaller contact areas, narrower tracks, higher point loads, and deeper grooves. Without Mud System Physics, default settings are used. **Soil compaction** Each soil cell has its own state, including topsoil and subsoil compaction, hardness, processing intensity, structural damage, plow sole, roller reconsolidation, crossing count, last processing type, working depth, plant species, growth stage, root density, health, damage, and local irrigation. Compaction depends on wheel load, soil moisture, tire pressure, slip, maneuvering, and passes. **Densification target areas** Compression is not inherently bad; different field states have specific target levels, such as loose, optimal, or heavily compacted. Structural damage, ranging from 0 to 100%, can occur due to slip, spinning wheels, tight curves, shunting, difficult crossings, wet ground, improper cultivation, or heavy rollers on moist soil. **Plants and roots** The mod recognizes plant species and growth stages, calculating natural root density and root health (0-100%). Root density influences carrying capacity, grooving, soil structure, and biological recovery. Young plants are more sensitive; grass, clover, and alfalfa have stronger root mats. **Supported plant species** All standard, card, and mod fruits are supported, with separate profiles for grass, clover, alfalfa, corn, sorghum, potatoes, sugar beet, wheat, barley, oats, rye, spelled, soybeans, peas, beans, rapeseed, sunflowers, cotton, rice, sugarcane, grapes, olives, poplars, oil radish, vegetables, and a general profile for others. **Fruit damage** Visual Mud Tracks can damage plants within the tire area, depending on tire width, load, soil moisture, slip, cornering, crossings, plant species, growth stage, root health, structural damage, tire care, AI helper, and vehicle/device locks. Damage primarily affects roots and crops, with severity ranging from thinning to complete removal. **Fruit Damage Mode** Available modes include applying game settings or disabling damage entirely. Tire care settings include no damage, damage only under high slip, reduced damage, and normal damage, evaluated based on tire width and designations. **AI Assistants and Device Locks** Active AI helpers can be excluded or included in fruit damage calculations. The mod also checks vehicle and device settings that prevent fruit destruction, which can be toggled. **Tillage** Different tillage devices affect the soil differently: - Plow: loosens topsoil, removes ruts, reduces surface compaction, may form plow pan. - Cultivator: moderate loosening, reduces light to moderate compaction. - Disc harrow: shallow loosening, levels and mixes topsoil. - Rotary harrow: fine seedbed, surface smoothing, low impact. - Subsoiler: reduces subsoil compaction, breaks plow pan, soil moisture-dependent. - Roller: reconsolidates, stabilizes seedbed, smooths surface, can cause harmful compaction if soil is wet. - Plow sole and biological recovery: repeated plowing can create plow pans, impeding water drainage and root growth, increasing subsoil compaction. Roots can gradually recover soil health. **Field info** Expanded to include compaction hardness, subsoil compaction, root health, soil structure, target areas, and plow sole. Compatible with precision farming displays. **Multiplayer** Operates server-authoritatively, calculating and storing terrain grooves, compaction, root condition, structural damage, plow sole, editing status, and fruit damage. New players receive the full ground state. **Performance** Uses caches for vehicles, weights, fill units, terrain change queues, limited processing budgets, network packets, delayed saves, and aggregated ground cells to optimize server load. **Mod menu** Settings include track reinforcement, contrast, crossing steps, terrain grooves, groove depth, soil moisture, weight and tire influence, crop damage mode, tire care, AI crop damage, vehicle/device locks, and diagnostics. **API** Provides `VisualMudTracksSoilAPI` for other mods, offering data on plant species, growth stage, root density and health, soil compaction, structural damage, plow sole, target areas, editing status, irrigation, track depth, and plant damage. Irrigation and tillage impacts can also be reported. **Changes Since Version 0.25** Major expansions include tire pressure integration, vehicle weight/load calculations, axle/load analysis, permanent terrain ruts, multiplayer sync, custom soil models, compaction hardness and targets, plant and root systems, structural damage, multiple crossings, slip and maneuver damage, roller reconsolidation, tillage effects, plow sole formation, biological recovery, crop damage, plant sensitivity, tire care rules, AI helper, locks, extended field info, soil and irrigation API, and performance optimizations. **V1.0.3.1** Further improvements include full tire pressure integration, detailed vehicle and load analysis, permanent terrain grooves, multiplayer synchronization, custom soil models, and enhanced performance features.
