No Rolling Bales – BETA
Tired of round bales slowly sliding or rolling away down every slope on your map? This script mod fixes that without touching any models or textures — pure Lua, works with any baler and any existing savegame.
How it works: the mod monitors every bale in the game and continuously checks its speed. When a bale is nearly motionless, it gains extra physics resistance so gravity can't push it further down a hill. As soon as the bale starts moving — being dropped, picked up with a spike or forklift, loaded onto an autoload trailer, etc. — the resistance is removed instantly, making bale handling feel completely normal.Features:

Lightweight: only affects bales, nothing else in the save

Notes: on very steep terrain, a bale can occasionally gain enough speed to roll before the mod intervenes — this is a significant improvement over vanilla physics, though not an absolute guarantee on extreme slopes.Update v1.6.0.0
Fixed: bales that were knocked or bumped by a vehicle or implement would sometimes keep rolling forever instead of slowing down and settling. A light "cruise" damping now applies while a bale is moving, allowing it to naturally lose speed and come to rest instead of coasting endlessly.
Fixed: bales would hang in mid-air and fall slowly after coming off a bale spike or telehandler. Damping now turns off properly the moment a bale is actually moving with real speed, so drops behave normally again.
Fixed: bales couldn't be picked up at all with a bale spike or telehandler in the previous version — the mod's logic for "resting vs. being handled" was reworked so that pickup, carrying, and dropping work as expected.
Removed the periodic status line from the log (it was only a debug heartbeat, no longer needed).
Core behavior remains unchanged: bales still gain extra rolling resistance when nearly still, preventing them from creeping on slopes, and this resistance now scales sensibly rather than being all-or-nothing.
