Description:

The JAGUAR 800 series made its debut with a limited preproduction run in 1993. Starting from the 1994 season, the latest forage harvester generation was available to all customers. This new series was equipped with engines ranging from 228 kW (310 hp) to 354 kW (481 hp). Mounted transversely behind the steering axle, the straightforward direct-drive systems ensured optimal cooling air supply and easy access to the machine's interior. For example, when harvesting grass silage, the CORN CRACKER could simply be moved to the rear and replaced with a grass shaft. This innovative design set the standard for modern forage harvesters. Thanks to the balanced drive axle load, it was now possible to attach eight-row maize headers for the first time. The distinctive visual design of the new CLAAS forage harvesters immediately conveyed confidence. The spacious cab featured a curved front windscreen and sloping roof, and for the first time, accommodated two seats—one for the driver and an optional passenger. Central lubrication was included as standard. An accelerator was positioned directly behind the CORN CRACKER to enhance crop flow. In 2001, a major power milestone was reached with the JAGUAR 900 boasting 445 kW (605 hp). Even the smallest model in the series delivered an impressive 236 kW (321 hp). The fundamental structure and visual design remained largely unchanged from the previous generation, with some updates such as mudguards above the wheels and a modernized tailgate. The driver’s workstation was completely redesigned, allowing all functions to be easily set and monitored from the terminal. For instance, the sharpening of the cutting cylinder could be controlled from the driver’s seat, and the optimal shear bar setting could be selected. To ensure the JAGUAR was ready to start work simultaneously with the tractor and transport vehicles, a high-speed SPEEDSTAR version was introduced from the 2003 season upon request, reaching a top speed of 40 km/h.V1.0.0.1
