The Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King, designated S-61 by the manufacturer, is a versatile twin-engine helicopter primarily designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW). Built by the American company Sikorsky Aircraft, it has been in service with the United States Navy and other military forces since the early 1960s and remains operational in many countries worldwide. The Sea King has also been produced under license in Italy by Agusta, in Japan by Mitsubishi, and in the United Kingdom as the Westland Sea King. The main civilian variants of this helicopter are the S-61L and S-61N.
