Description:

The ShKH vz. 77 (short for Samohybná Kanónová Húfnica vzor 77, "model 77 self-propelled howitzer") or DANA (from D?lo automobilní nabíjené automaticky, meaning "automatically loaded self-propelled gun" in Czech) is a wheeled self-propelled howitzer with a 152 mm caliber. Developed in Czechoslovakia during the 1970s by Konštrukta Tren?ín and manufactured by ZTS in Dubnica nad Váhom, Slovakia, it was commissioned in 1981 as the first operational 152 mm wheeled self-propelled artillery gun. The Czech Republic continued to enhance this vehicle with new fully automated versions, such as the DANA M2, which can be operated by just two crew members. Meanwhile, Slovakia shifted to the 155 mm caliber with the ShKH vz. 2000 Zuzana. The DITA is a variant of the DANA M2 equipped with a standard 155mm NATO barrel.
