Description:

What is MoreRealistic Mod? A deep modification of the game designed to enhance the driving experience, making it feel more authentic and immersive—truly a 'driving farming simulator.' MoreRealistic history: In real life, I drove my first tractor at age 7 (a Ford 7000 and IH745, just the steering wheel). I am also a software engineer, but my passion for farming simulation runs deep. I discovered LS2009 just before Farming Simulator 2011 was released and started modding with FS2011 because the vanilla physics were unrealistic—tractors flying, no rolling resistance, and weight not affecting traction. I created MR11 to improve the driving experience and fix bugs like the farm bales elevator. Once FS2011 with MR felt right, I released MR11. But it was late; FS2013 came out, and I spent thousands of hours adapting MR to it. Then MR13, because vanilla FS2013 felt poor compared to MR11, took even more time to develop and convert equipment. When FS15 arrived, I tried to improve it but couldn’t achieve the realism I wanted, so no MR15. FS17 was similar; I managed to create MR17, investing over 3000 hours. Despite my efforts, I had little time to enjoy the game. FS19 and FS22 came and went—my job left no room for modding or gaming. Why MR25? I bought the game just before release and played nearly an hour before starting to mod. The driving experience was terrible—manual direction change was unplayable with the base MT635. Gears shifted poorly, and the gearbox felt unrealistic. I wanted a tractor that felt real, like my experience with John Deere 3650, which I drove for hundreds of hours. The game’s gear ratios and physics didn’t match real life. I also found issues with crop yields, transmission behavior, and vehicle stability. This frustration led me to develop MR25—aiming for a truly realistic farming simulator. What can you expect from MoreRealistic? - Realistic rolling resistance and air resistance, crucial for authentic vehicle behavior. - Improved tire forces, preventing pulling more than your weight. - Accurate earth gravity and mass distribution. - More realistic harvest and working speeds. - Engines with proper torque curves. - Advanced transmission management with automatic shifting that mimics real-world behavior. - No automatic brakes downhill; AI should handle braking now. - Better combine harvesting logic, considering crop yield, header capacity, and crop type. - Variable center of mass depending on fill level. - Tires impact handling significantly, especially on wet fields. What should you not expect? - Overriding every piece of equipment, expansion, or official mod—this would require endless development. Fun facts: - I initially bought the game on Steam but had to buy directly from Giants for modding access. - Each MR project is built from scratch; I don’t reuse code. - It can take dozens or hundreds of hours to remove vanilla features or fix bugs. - Many equipment models are not accurate—like the APE50 not having a CVT, or Aprilia 125 not being 100Hp. - The engine physics are designed to reflect real-world behavior, not just game balance. Why MR25? Because the base game’s physics and vehicle behavior are far from realistic. I wanted to create a mod that makes driving, harvesting, and operating equipment feel authentic—more like real life. It’s aimed at hardcore players who seek a true driving experience and are willing to invest time to enjoy a more immersive farming simulator.

Can someone share how the like gear shifting changes play out? I'm curious about the accuracy in various tractors.

I have to say, this mod definitely puts the "real" in realistic! Steering the tractor feels a whole lot closer to logging actual hours in the field. I just hope my happy farmers around promised they didn’t get turned from inquiries into actual terra-formers in Haston instead – that was AWKWARD! Seriously, thanks for all your hard work in bringing an authentic farming experience to life, but I would love some toggles here and there for beginners—it can be maze out there on detours with serious properties!

Could you clarify how the improved gear shifting mechanic deals with varying terrain difficulties? Thank you!
