It was notable for being the company's first turbocharged tractor and the first to exceed 100 horsepower. Its introduction helped revitalize International Harvester and established its reputation for powerful, innovative farm equipment. The 1206 was also available in International Standard and Wheatland models.History and significance:
First turbocharged Farmall: The IH 1206 Farmall was equipped with a factory-installed turbocharger, a major engineering advancement that increased its power.
First over-100 horsepower: It was the first row-crop tractor to surpass 100 horsepower, providing farmers with more power for demanding tasks like plowing.
