The 105 combine was the monster of its day, reserved for the largest farms, but as farms became larger and yields increased, more and more farmers turned to its large capacity for their harvests. Deere’s New Generation combines reflected that and the release of the 7700 brought 25 percent more capacity than Deere offered before. While the 105 was Deere’s biggest machine and only farmers of the largest acreages were interested in this big of a machine, the trend for the demand for power by farmers was ever upward and the successor of the 105, the 6600, quickly became Deere’s biggest seller of the New Generation of combines
