There seems to be some confusion regarding the model name “Borgward B 300.” According to historical records of the German manufacturer Carl F. W. Borgward GmbH, there is no widely recognized model by that name. However, there are two notable vehicles often associated with similar designations: 1. Borgward B 3000 (Truck) The Borgward B 3000 was a well-known family of medium-duty, 3-ton trucks produced between 1941 and 1944, with additional production after World War II from 1948 to 1950. Purpose: These trucks were extensively used by the Wehrmacht during World War II for transporting troops and supplies. Variants: They came in various configurations, including 4×2 (S) and 4×4 (A) versions, with both petrol and diesel engines. Reputation: About 30,000 units were built. While considered reliable, they were often seen as inferior to the Opel Blitz 3-ton truck due to mechanical issues like clutch slipping and steering problems in cold weather. 2. Sd.Kfz. 300 (Minenräumwagen) The Sd.Kfz. 300 was a specialized remote-controlled mine-clearing vehicle developed by Borgward. Purpose: These tracked, radio-controlled vehicles were designed to enter minefields and clear paths for other forces. Development: Two series, B I and B II, were produced starting in 1940. Usage: They were often destroyed during mine detonation or used as mobile demolition units against bunkers and obstacles.
