I thought of a similar concept, I think it would "Behave" better as a trailer/"Roller". Adding different attachments to make a more complete vehicle, I see the merit in going the route you did. It would be amazing to the roleplay community to implement this on a wide scale, building everything from trailers to big buds being able to see the different configurations as you build.
May be possible with set sized frames for dedicated vehicle types, just making different body types to attach to the frame to configure different/hybrid vehicles.
I would love to see this as a roller "front hitch for transport" trailer mod under its own category. The mechanic RP can gain a new prop and if the above statement is implemented so well that consoles can run it without issue it "could" change this games history.
